R.T. and Mary Wedding Endowed Fund in Biochemistry

Purpose: Graduate Student Support

The R.T. and Mary Wedding Endowed Fund supports UCR Biochemistry students by sponsoring the annual summer research symposium and awarding prizes for top presentations. It also provides travel grants to national and international conferences—advancing student growth as researchers and scientific communicators in honor of a founding member of the department.

The Leland M. Shannon Endowed Fund in Biochemistry

Purpose: Undergraduate Student Support

The Leland M. Shannon Endowed Fund in Biochemistry supports an annual award recognizing top students in BCH 162 (Advanced Biochemistry Laboratory). Instructors nominate outstanding students based on their performance, honoring excellence in experimental skill, critical thinking, and scientific communication.

The Walton B. Sinclair Teaching Award

Purpose: Graduate Student Support

The Walton B. Sinclair Teaching Award endowment fund provides supports for an annual award to recognize one or more outstanding Teaching Assistants (TAs) in the Department of Biochemistry. Biochemistry course instructors nominate outstanding TAs based on their dedication and commitment to ensuring students' success and exceeding the expectations set by course instructors.
